“The Making of a Masterpiece”

Although museum visitors can readily enjoy the beauty of Old Master paintings, few realize the artistic processes and organizations behind the production of these works. “The Making of a Masterpiece” introduces viewers to the context in which these masterworks were created. Learn about the art academies and artists’ guilds that influenced artistic choices, styles, subject matter, and the methods of art instruction.
