Brick Street Café

You wouldn’t know it today, but the building that houses Brick Street Café was originally a belt factory. These days it’s cause for loosening belts.
Seated on the edge of the West End, Brick Street has become a lunchtime favorite for downtown nine-to-fivers. Try a tasty oyster po’boy, the Southernly-named Tawandaaaa’s Steak Salad, or the indulgent baked brie plate. At dinner, stick with the house specialties: fried shrimp with sweet potato fries, and crab cakes with remoulade and roasted corn salsa (although Mom’s Spaghetti ain’t bad!). And save room for dessert because Brick Street makes the most scrumptious treats in town. The sweet potato pie is to die for! Closed Sunday.
